With a registered Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, you can rest assured that the person speaking for you is chosen and trusted by you.
There are two different types of LPA: financial affairs, and health & welfare.
We can draw up the legal documents required for either, or both, and submit them for registration by the Office of The Public Guardian.
If you lose capacity without an LPA in place, your next of kin, or other appropriate person (remember, you will have no say in who that person is) will have to apply to the Court of Protection to be appointed as your Deputy. Realistically, this can take more than 4 months, during which time your finances cannot be accessed and your medical team will be solely responsible for deciding what is in your best interests. Property and Financial Affairs LPA – £325
Health and Welfare LPA – £325
Both LPAs for one person – £500*
Both LPAs for a couple – £950*
For all LPAS: Office of Public Guardian registration fees of £82 per document**
*No additional discounts may be used alongside this discounted fee
**This is reduced to £41 per document if your income is below £12,000 per year.
