Welcome to the Oxford Wills & Probate blog!
Have you considered your digital legacy?
What is your digital legacy? Most of us leave digital footprints daily! We Tweet opinions, Facebook our friends and Instagram our delicious meals and sunshine filled holidays, whilst LinkedIn showcases careers and contacts. What happens to these accounts when we die?...
Are you an Organ Donor?
A prepaid funeral plan provider has teamed up with the NHS organ donor register to encourage people to think about organ donation whilst they are making their funeral arrangements. It is hoped that this pilot scheme will encourage more people to join the register this year.
Should you make an Advance Decision?
People make Advance Decisions because they are worried their wishes may not be known should they require life-saving or life-prolonging treatment. We recommend that you seek help with putting your Advance Decision in place because the issues at stake can be quite complex.
Have you reviewed your Will recently?
It’s important to ensure your Will has been checked recently, especially if some time has passed since it was written.
All manner of things change in people’s lives which, unless we stop to think, may go unnoticed in terms of their impact on our estate planning.
SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2018
When we die, we’re not there to foot the bill, so why should we worry? It can be tricky – or impossible – for loved ones to come up with a significant sum of money at the time of a death. Even more so if the event is unexpected. Prepaid funeral plans enable us to cover these costs in advance.

We are delighted to have opened our Oxford office at 10 Windmill Road, Headington. Pop in to see us, or call 01865 688309 to make an appointment. We look forward to servicing the Wills and Probate needs of the local community!
Why not write your Will?
Do you have an up to date Will? 55% of adults in Britain don’t…and, if you’re one of them, it might be time to tick this off your list! We offer a free Will review for your existing Will, or a Will writing service if you need to prepare one from scratch.
Probate Fees on the increase in April
The fee for applying for the Grant of Probate is currently £215. This is due to rise in April, and will be calculated on a sliding scale – around 0.5% of the total estate value. How can you plan to pay this for your estate or that of a loved one?
What is a Lasting Power of Attorney?
There are two types of LPA: Health & Welfare and Financial Affairs. Find out about the differences between them, and the process and costs involved.
Home Visits
We offer home visits at no extra cost to make appointments as convenient as possible for you. We also offer a priority service, in situations which are time critical.
Alzheimer’s Awareness
The Alzheimers Society Initiative, Dementia Friends, encourages service providers to think about how they can best support individuals and families which have been affected by dementia.
